He knows mePosted by Sue in Untagged |
In my youthful days, I listened to sermons about Jesus, his teachings, read on somewhat of a daily basis, and fell into the category of "average" Christian. Someone who was brought up in a God fearing home, raised and bred in the all american (or komerican) church family, and did all those wonderful activities branded by our loving parents (and others as well) to do good works for church and beyond. I suppose that is what you call the call to go beyond...
It was only today where a sermon's daunting words kept pushing me to say, Thanks Lord, for another wonder filled day. Truly.
There was a pastor from long ago who preached about the familial bond we have with Christ. As a brother or sister, but more importantly, how the direct closeness from a sibling standpoint has great influence on Christ's ability to come down to our earthly level and know us, as man and woman, and at the sametime, also as God. (by the way, this is all done from memory, so don't quote me...)
The pastor went on to tell us what the bible shows of our recognition from above... that the Lord knows us, even before we were conceived in our mother's womb, his knowledge and recognition which transcends the timeline of yesteryear, and stems all the way to the beginning of time. The acknowledgement, that "He knows us by name" is something I happily carry with me even today.
The fact that public acknowledgement in lieu of praise for many might be purely conceptual, in the knowing that we do grow fond of public acclamation- moreso positive identities shared- is a concept that many people love. (that is, fame in itself is powerful, and well loved by many). But I think more than that, it is the calling by its true nature, when being called, the action of being announced, recognition from someone already famous by our standards on earth, really is short lived and superficial.
God's ability to call us by name, and even recognize us individually from the crowd, is the greatest thing I can share with you today. What a great and awesome joy it is to know, to truly feel the presence of the Lord on High in everyday moments- it truly is a memory to be thankful for.
For your life's road to be curvy, and trialsome, for the pebbles that lay in the road you travel, are all wonderous insights predestined for you to experience.
So, I close with this.
Christ says to not be afraid, for his peace that He gives is not of this world.
It is a peace that brings forth a confidence and instills determination, courage to fight the good fight for the battle at hand.
How awesome is it to know, that God calls you ? I mean, God the creator of heaven and earth, the master of all things earthly and beyond actually knows your name. you know, for me its Sue K. Tayag, I know you....(I hear James earl Jones voice over...) =P
He calls you by your name, and declares we are his eternally. For the blood that was given for the price of an eternal life with our Father is an wonderous and beautiful thing to behold!
Peace and Blessings to you all~God Bless you and your wonderfilled day!
Me.
