KACMedia Fitness Challenge

In an article from Inheritance Magazine, "Does God Require us to be healthy?", David Pat states:

 
"People have often asked me what health and fitness have to do with following
Jesus and I tell them that Christians should be the ones who are most concerned
with how they treat their bodies.
... our bodies are given to us so that we can work for the glory of God.
Our lifestyles are a reflection of our hearts; do we choose to live for pleasure and
leisure or are we committed to being healthy and disciplined so that we may better serve the Lord?"

 

Balance in life takes healthy living: spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally.

This challenge is focused on increasing the physical wellness, in a sedentary office workspace.

9 KAC staff members have taken up this 90 day challenge and one will come out the Fitness Winner!

 

Each participant will choose their own methods of workout, diet, and supplements to reaching their goals.

 

The one who has achieved the most difference in their body fat by the end of 90-days will get their face on a t-shirt

that all the non-winners will wear at the TOM Film Fest 2010 in June.

                  Eat lots of fish, veggies & fruits, get 8 hours of sleep a day, never smoke & rarely drink, avoid soda like the plague

                  Can't resist sweets or chili cheese fries, sedentary job, need to work out more consistently, don't drink enough water or take vitamins!

                  8 hours of sleep a day. 9 out of 10 times, I'll opt for healthy snacks whenever I feel hungry. Always have my daily required servings of fruits and veggies...smoothies make it easy! No coffee or soda, ever.

                  Night owl. Worry. Facebook...lol.

 5) Desired Goals (besides losing the most body fat percentage)

                  Run 3 miles in 40 mins. Complete a 5k marathon before the 90-day challenge ends. Have Jessica Alba's killer body and sun-kissed glow...ooh la la!

                  LOVE cardio and being in the outdoors (anything that involves strength, endurance, muscle confusion, and plyometrics training). I try to eat healthy most of the time: balancing veggies, try to stay away from "bad" meats/seafood, eat lean/organic foods when I can, stay away from refined white stuff, soda orangey sugary drinks/juices for that matter. I don't smoke and have drinks on occasion.  

4) Kryptonite (Most Unhealthy Habits)

                  Cannot say no to ice cream (gelato, froyo included), chocolate, cookies, pastries, cake, and thai food.  I need to drink more water and endulge in more sleep too!

5) Desired Goals (besides losing the most body fat percentage)

                  Figure out how to get rid of water retention so I can stay lean and not bloated (but I don't mind my curves - I embrace them) :)

I might be up for some arm wrestling challenges (I'm stronger than I look) and want to make sure that I'm actually light enough for James to squat me (cause I'm also heavier than I look) :P

                  I don't know if its healthy, but if it doesn't taste good then I don't put it in my mouth.  I don't like fried foods, or salty foods and also am not a fan of "feeling so full I want to throw up".

                  I drink too much coffee and I love sweets.  I also have this disease called "couch-potato syndrome".
