Passion and Purity

ImagePassion and Purity
Author: Elisabeth Elliot

A thoughtful and honest book, Passion and Purity traces back to Elisabeth Elliot’s relationship under God’s provision. Elliot shares her love story with readers so candidly, it’s difficult to put the book down. With biblical relevance to what God wants in our passionate relationships is extremely radical from a worldly perspective. However, Elliot’s combination of her personal accounts and God’s will in our lives illustrate a pure love we long for.

Her experiences were not easy, but one of great worth, reminding us that love is more than just human affection and romantic scenarios.  Her painful tales raises questions of true love, marriage, sacrifices, and temptations. Both men and women, young and old can share ideals in the tale of what should be lasting love when within God’s matters.

ImageThere is no real rulebook for intimacy, but Elliot’s commitment in Christ holds true to this day. Her story is one we can relate to and encourage singles and those engaged for a love of real passion and purity. Practical in storytelling, she “teaches this often painful yet rewarding discipline” in putting God’s desires before our own rigidities. Amidst what simply feels right because it is “commonplace” in our society, Elliot is not afraid to be honest with ridding superficial love. Love under the authority of Christ reflects all that two people can hope for in a relationship.

As newly single, tracing back to my own love story reminds me of the passion Christ had for us. Passion and Purity is a wonderful book to read as a growing woman of God, revealing depth and evidence that Christ’s love is real, engaging, and promising. A loving walk with Him will unfold pages and pages of marvel.

Title: ...
oooh. this book sounds interesting. Ever since that True Love Waits book, I became pretty iffy about Christian dating books. Maybe I'll check this one out!
