Rubies in the Making

ImageOur society runs on the individual “I” often forgetting the collective “we.” It’s easy to cloister oneself in hiding and chain oneself to a busy schedule. When tough times roll around, an outing with a group of girlfriends or women’s ministry can rev up the mood on any given day. Ladies, it’s so easy to feel alone, unloved, and exhausted by the shape of our workweek, but pairing or grouping up with female cohorts can ease up a heavy heart.

Engaging with others is one way to find encouragement for a lighter and refreshing time. In the Bible, Jesus dines and wines with his disciples to teach and share the Word. He fed and encouraged a group that “rejoiced in sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” (Romans 5:3-5)

As a growing Christian, fellowship and accountability is an essential part of spiritual feeding. If God granted you a great group of friends to talk to, listen to, and vent to, it’s a clear blessing to share with these people the day-to-day walk as a Christian.

Individually, God knit every woman carefully, but He finds the greatest delight in a woman who “opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. “ (Proverbs 31:26 ESV)
Individually, a woman “fearfully and wonderfully made” sees it her “calling to spread this good news,” and collectively “encourage women and let them know that they are worth far more than rubies. God has given a blueprint for His daughters in the Bible” – (Proverbs 31:10-31 ESV)
