Young-Eun Presbyterian Church

Finding ground in South Whittier and bordering La Mirada and La Habra, Young-Eun Presbyterian Church has been home to countless of families and individuals throughout the decades.

Its constant flow of people has allowed transformation and continuous growth within its ministries. Ranging from youth to adult (both Korean and English-speaking), Young-Eun finds itself providing a space for the next generation of believers. Despite the changes though, this church is a family. Head pastor, Pastor Byon, alongside English Ministry (EM) pastor, Pastor David, and Education Department Ministry (EDM) director, Jong Kim, work together to bring Young-Eun into a new era of Christians who seek to serve a community that is not just amongst themselves, but out into the surrounding neighborhoods.

Although Young-Eun congregation is made up of a community of Koreans, its English-speaking ministries will not hesitate to welcome a wide range of people from different backgrounds. Young-Eun’s strength has always been in its diversity of people, consisting of working individuals to full-time students. This church has been fortunate enough to have a congregation that contains members who serve as leaders in their own communities outside of church—whether it is in their campus ministries or at their work.

Because of its small (yet growing) size, Young-Eun has been able to provide opportunities for young adults, college members, and the youth to apply Christian leadership at their very own church. Young-Eun’s vision is not to simply say that its members are maintaining a relationship with God, but rather its goal is for its members to practice everyday worship in their very own lives. Its members are equipped with the tools from Bible study, small groups, inreach activities, as well as outreach events that together help to strengthen and empower individuals, so that The Body as a whole can be built up.
