Looks like Martin Scorsese is taking another stab at Jesus. This time it won't be another portrayal of His crucifixion in his controversial 1988 film "The Last Temptation of Christ".
After he finishes "Shutter Island" Scorsese is determined to make the long developing "Silence" his next film. Based on the Shusaku Endo novel, the drama is set in the 17th century as two Jesuit priests face violence and persecution when they travel to Japan to locate their mentor and to spread the gospel of Christianity. Production begins later this year in New Zealand with an adapted script by Jay Cocks. Daniel Day Lewis and Benicio Del Toro are in negotiations to star.
