Avoiding the Freshmen 15 - Part 1 of 3 |
Let's face it. College is a time when you’re very vulnerable to gaining weight. Here are a few reasons why:
1. The dreaded dorm food - though most people quickly get sick of it, I personally loved it. When I’m around a lot of food I get tempted to eat everything I see. Not good….
2. Late night snacking - I guess it’s all part of the college
“experience,” but those late night Dominos pizza orders that you eat
with your friends in the dorms will add up some extra storage around
your waist.
3. Alcohol - empty calories anyone?? Apparently it’s also not too
good for your liver and.. Oh yea.. it’s illegal to consume when you’re
under 21… This is a no-no, especially for you freshmen.
4. Idleness - remember all of those years growing up when you played
sports, did martial arts, or were forced to do at least a little bit of
moving around in PE class? Well, now that you’re independent and in
college you might have decided to drop all of those things and just sit
around in your dorm room playing video games with your dorm mates all
day, sometimes skipping class…common..admit it..
This isn’t the case for everyone, but a lot of people I knew who used
to be high school athletes decided to call for an early retirement once
they hit college and then decided to become LAZY instead.
