Treat Your Body Right! - Part 1 of 2
ImageThe human body is a sensitive detector to traces of bad and good compounds. The challenge is to eat right for any situation that calls for it. Our body reacts differently from every intake so eating certain complexes can help fuel an energizing new you.  Help yourself this new year and look forward to the secrets of health benefits.

Battling a Cold

Recommendations: Warm fluids, garlic
Try: Warm chicken noodle soup or vegetable soup that have added onions or garlic can easily boost disease-fighting compounds in your meal. Fluids can thin out built-up mucus and counter dehydration due to fevers.

Toss and Turn Sleeper

Recommendations: Whole grains with protein
Eating whole grains will increase serotonin production in your brain and nutritious protein complexes that have amino acid tryptophan can help insomnia.
Try: Hummus on a whole-wheat pita bread; tomato with a slice of turkey breast; whole-grain cereal with soy milk

Pre-Workout

Recommendations: Light snacks with carbs and water
Try: Low-fat yogurt with banana and strawberries an hour or more before your workout can turn into glucose for energy! A small bite a half-hour to an hour before your workout regimen will give you strength to exercise. “It takes the edge off hunger and gives your body some calories,” says Judith J. Wurtman, PhD, author of Managing Your Mind and Mood through Food.
