Why do you love me, asked thrice before,
Puzzled,perplexed, confused and more,
To find a reason beyond a life,
searching everywhere leads only to strife,
Such question begins as a story from long ago,
With Joseph and Mary one couple we know.
Stories which permeated our past impale,
Reveals the glory of God detailed,
A Savior born of lowly birth,
Tucked in a manger, thought useless of worth,
Upon the gaze of cattle lie,
the gleam of hope and twinkling eye,
3 Kings brought incense, myhrr and gold,
to worship a King, whose birth foretold,
How amazing that this baby grows into a man,
Dedicated to the Father, and his ultimate plan,
His life a legacy of martyrdom reveal,
In Christ Jesus Be Saved, Be Sealed,
Pave straight a path to eternity,
all for a nameless one, a nobody,
The ransom paid, and life set free,
Lord I thank you for loving me.
Blood is thicker than water we know,
A King has pardoned my life in tow,
He's placed a robe, a ring, a crown,
A prodigal's return confirmed, confound,
When at my meeting with Christ reunite,
When I am in front of my Jesus Christ,
I am found on my knees, rejoicing anew
Proclaiming, Lord I'm so unworthy of you,
That joy divine, so strong and clear,
will be in essence, forever I hear,
To hear your words and see your face,
Enamoured by your mercy as much as your grace,
As much as I want to I reach for your hands,
and feel the scars that carried your plans,
I asked why you loved me entirely still,
When I was lost, the battle a hill,
And all the evening shadows doth haze,
Upon my life you still amaze,
The lofty requests I place at your feet,
Ridiculous they'd say, without retreat,
The world is what its meant to be,
In the moment, in the second, not a mystery,
Such is the hex of Satan's dome,
the liar, the thief that makes his bed and home,
Father of lies and death doth he posess,
to sway and swoon, carry poison no less,
My heart knows truth, through your word you've shown,
Such sweet words which stand alone,
Sweet notions of joy, David did recite,
To give you glory, honor and delight,
Greater love than this reveal,
Your love for us before time conceal,
Remember me as a man once said,
as he hung on a tree and confessed instead,
Said Christ, 'In paradise you'll be with me",
To him a promise as you cleft at Calvary,
Remember me Lord, as I live this life,
Through every ordeal, and every strife,
I ask not for the paradise to him restored,
My request is this, just one thig more,
May you be pleased and delighted still,
With all the things I give you until,
I see you again when we're face to face,
to hear your voice, and feel your embrace,
Grant me wisdom to speak well and show,
Your light in me to shine and glow,
With brightness burn with sacrifice impresse,
The image of Calvary by love expressed,
May all you see be pleasing dear Lord,
Be merciful to me, by your Spirit restored,
By heaven and earth, moon, and sea,
No vast a distance shall I ever be,
From a creator and King who loves me true,
Jesus my Lord, I really love you.
Remember me, remember me still
Even into old age until,
I make my bed and await on thee,
Walk with me on the road to Calvary.
Well before my eyes grow faint,
and my body cease and energy quaint,
When wrinkles form at my hands and knees,
May you breathe life, into places as these,
No matter what happens, no matter the price,
All was undone by your sacrifice,
Thank you Jesus for loving me true,
This is why I truly love you.
