// Bike for the Light Embarks on Second Tour
Last year, Johnny Kelley cycled through 16 states and 10,000 miles to raise awareness for Speed the Light, a missions networking site. This second time around, on March 1, Kelley will depart at Dallas, Texas and will finish his journey in Michigan, by attending National Fine Arts Festival, held August 2-6. Super Bowl 2010 has come and gone and the Saints will be remembered for their underdog victory. But for many people, just as memorable are the ads aired during the commercial breaks. This year, a Doritos ad made by Los Angeles-based Mosaic Church ranked number 14 in the USA Today Ad Meter. Since New Year’s Day, 11 churches in the Dallas area have gone up in flames. Authorities have ruled it as an act of a serial arsonist and are offering a $25,000 reward for any information. Dover Baptist was the 11th church burned Monday, February 8, 2010. Emily Becker, member a church that burned down says, "We want them to be brought to justice, but we're trying to forgive them as taught in the Lord's Prayer."Original article.

// National Prayer Breakfast Draws Controversy
National Prayer Breakfast has served for more than 50 years as a networking event in Washington, but President Obama and congressional leaders are being advised against attending this year’s event. Religious and gay rights leaders are bringing accusations against a sponsor of the event, a secret network named The Fellowship. They argue that the Fellowship has ties to legislation in Uganda that called for the imprisonment and execution of homosexuals. Liberal members and gay rights leaders organized an alternative event called American Prayer Hours. Original article.

// Some Presbyterians see salvation by other faiths
According to a recent poll involving members The Presbyterian Church USA, one in three felt that Jesus Christ was not the only means to salvation. The PCUSA’s statement of faith clearly defines that only Christ “delivers followers ‘from death to life eternal,’” so it is surprising that over 30 percent disagreed with the statement. An administrator of the Presbyterian Panel commented that “[seemed] to be some universalist streak in Presbyterianism.” Original article.
