However, with all the various translations and what some call “niche Bibles,” Christian scholars begin to wonder if the popularity of the Bible can be a bad thing. Expert on biblical translation, David Lyle Jeffrey, feels that the Bible is evolving into a “diverse Babel of translations” and thus losing a “common voice.” Nevertheless, many publishers claim that the purpose of the diversity is to reach as many readers as possible.
