Rescued from Dog Meat Farms and Puppy Mills |
|
Stephanie Jeong founded Happy Angels Dog Rescue to rescue small-breed
dogs from South Korea. Some of the dogs are rescued from dog-meat farms
where they are raised in deplorable conditions and then killed for
their meat. Others are rescued from puppy mills, high-kill shelters or
the streets. Stephanie finds "foster homes" for these dogs until they
can find permanent homes. Prospective adopters must undergo a thorough
application process before they are matched with a dog that best fits
their household. Kimberly Mackie adopted two dogs from Happy Angels Dog
Rescue. One of them is Lucy, a one-eyed Maltese who had been kept in a
cage to breed puppies over and over before getting rescued. Watch this
heartwarming episode of "Upper Room."
