The United Nations just released their "Toolkit to Combat Trafficking in Persons" this past Thursday (October 9th). It is a thorough document (over 500+ pages) that provides up-to-date stats, legislative development, and global strategies. According to UN’s website, the goals of this toolkit are to:

I must confess...I am turning into an online tech junkie. The irony is that I really don't know that much about online technology (No, really...some of your don't believe this, but it's true.). Beyond the basics of navigating through the internet, working with some software, and being patient enough (sometimes) to read information on google searches, I couldn't tell much you about technology. I know very little about how to work with plug-ins, html coding, firewalls, etc. I think I know just enough, with the help of Apple :), to fool some...haha!

  • Most of these children are younger than 5, and a majority of them—80 percent—are younger than 2.
  • Contaminated water and poor sanitation are factors in 88 percent of all disease in the developing world—diarrhea alone kills 2.1 million children annually.
