If you have been called to summit the mountain of Entertainment and Media, KAC Media would like to invite you to be an important part of this ground-breaking event at Harvest Rock Church (HRC) and the Ambassador Auditorium. Because there are many conferences and ministries dedicated to the equipping of Christians for impact in Hollywood - HRC truly sought out the Lord's wisdom in how to approach this endeavor without duplicating or overshadowing the efforts of those ministries ahead of them. Their desire is to stretch the scope of impact not only for Hollywood, but for the whole Mountain of Entertainment. proJECT Light will draw attendance from Pastors, leaders and industry professionals around the world including Asia and East India's Bollywood. A diverse showing of the Arts will be represented through industry professionals who have already worked the trenches in Film, Television, Music/Worship, Dance, Broadway, Comedy, and The Fine Arts. Furthermore, attendees who have a heart for this Mountain will be equipped through the spiritual guidance and impartation of world renowned Pastors and Leaders who have carried a special burden for the industry throughout many years.
If you have a burning desire to use the talents and giftings God gave you for Hollywood, you should not miss this opportunity to sit under spiritual mentors who have paved the way. You were not chosen by just name but by your authenticity to the Great Commission, so take action. Because this is the first Arts and Film conference of its kind at Harvest Rock Church, spread the word not only to believers for the industry, but anyone who might have a heart to sow into this unique ministry. Harvest Rock Church’s ProJECT Light is a Unique Gathering of Arts, Entertainment Luminaries
Unprecedented event takes over Ambassador Auditorium Aug. 5-9
Pasadena, CA, June 11, 2009 – The spotlight shines on arts, entertainment and media when Harvest Rock Church hosts its ProJECT Light conference Aug. 5-9 at Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena.
Film producerRalph Winter (Wolverine, X-Men series, Star Trek, Fantastic Four),Zachary Levi, star of NBC’s hit comedy Chuck, child art prodigy Akiane, and others will headline the weekend of workshops and seminars to help launch people of the Christian faith into arts, media and entertainment careers. The weekend’s schedule offers a front-row seat for attendees to interact with and learn from leading industry professionals.
Joining Winter, Levi and Akiane as headliners at the conference will be Pastors Che and Sue Ahn, founders of Harvest Rock Church; founder of Generals InternationalCindy Jacobs, Kong Hee, founder and senior pastor of City Harvest Church; and television commercial producer Mark Thomas.
Gabriel Ahn is the director of ProJECT Light. Ahn oversees Harvest Rock Church’s young adult ministry, Remnant. He is also an actor with a desire to write, direct and produce films.
“This is something that I believe has never quite been done before in the Christian community, and will be a groundbreaking event,” Gabe Ahn said. ProJECT Light grew out of Harvest Rock Church’s goals to transform society through various areas of culture – religion, media, arts and entertainment, family, government, education, business.
“We believe that Harvest Rock Church, like many, have a mandate to reach out to the entertainment industry because we are located at Ambassador Auditorium inPasadena, so close to Hollywood, and that Ambassador hosted performances by the world’s top entertainers for 20 years,” Ahn said.
“If we were to talk about Christians in Hollywood 20 years ago, we would have been looked down upon, but now we’ve seen the reverse, the opposite attitude,” he continued. “We as believers should not separate ourselves from Hollywood. It needs us, and that's why we want to encourage people to be a light in the entertainment industry.”
When this conference’s topic was selected, church leaders formed a committee of parishioners who worked in the media, arts and entertainment industries.
That committee tapped a network of industry contacts to attract the professionals who are participating in this unique event.
Various areas of the entertainment industry will be the focus of performances and workshops. These are just some of them:
• Music: Musician Charles Jones (performed in Dream Girls with Beyonce Knowles and Jaime Fox), singers-songwriters Andrea Hamilton and Calista Wu, and musician-spoken word performer Mo Salgado.
• Dance: Professional dancers Garland Hunt and Grace Baik and The Good Foot Arts Collective.

It's right up there with the one day you decide to wash your car and it rains the moment you come out of the car wash.
That being said, the statement "we need to talk" usually leads to an uncomfortable moment. It becomes awkward mainly because you're going to hear something you don't really want to hear. And really, who hasn't been there? When the person in front of you says "we need to talk." several things happen. Your heart starts to race, you roll your eyes or you start fidgeting around, looking everywhere but at that person. I've actually had an experience where someone was having a "talk" with me and my eyes were so focused on my phone (hoping somebody, anybody would call..) that the person actually stopped talking to stare at my phone as well. But of course it didn't ring. Just my luck, it was on silent. Sigh.
But what happens when YOU are the one who needs to talk? I don't think people realize it, but it's actually the "speaker" who's really at his/her wit's end when it's time for the conversation. No one wants to bear bad news, not unless they are villains of a movie and even then they use their minions to do their dirty work. I know it might be hard to believe, but in reality, the one who needs to "talk" really wants to end the conversation before it even begins.
Whether it's breaking someone's heart, nagging them for the thousandth time, or just simply setting a friend straight from a crooked path.. (there are actually a million "we need to talk" topics..) each talk is awkward and painful for BOTH the receiver and the giver.
So the next time someone says the horrid "we need to talk" line to you, don't just escape to another universe but actually listen in. You might learn a thing or two. If not about you (and your flaws..) hah! then definitely something about the speaker. And who knows? Maybe you can charm yourself back into their good graces or better yet, discover an annoying habit of theirs to fire back with. *smirk*
I've learned that it's always good to put yourself in the other person's shoes..no matter how difficult.
I just spent like 15 min. trying to figure out how to write a blog, I looked everywhere, clicked my name 4 times, then I realized that I'm not signed in.
The Nehemiah Band EP is out $7
T shirts $10
Why do we always run towards the ocean when we go to the beach?
Who invented rhetorical questions?
What if pigs do fly? Then what?!
Why are oranges orange but bananas not banana?
can you run fast enough?
Are schools necessary?
Why do artists all have the same attitude?
Can there be peace? how bout peach?
There are specific things that I have been praying for a really long time now and haven't been answered yet, but God reminded me of something missionary Matthew Jun said during our mission trip in Nicaragua: "1 year of prayer is better than 10 years of work" Otherwise, his school would never be in the place it is now.
Perseverance is hard. But when you have enough faith, it's easy. Have more faith.
I think missions is awesome. Going across the world to teach english, spread the gospel, make new friends, etc. I think the word missions is not appropriate for this sort of thing... When i hear missions, i see spies, black clothing, cool gadgets, tom cruise. As Chrsitian in America, it's hard to not be so self absorbed.
sleep is such a waste of time. I wish I didn't have to sleep because I sleep so much. I sleep my life away. the bible says poverty will come if you sleep alot. I think I'm a testimony to that, i need to sleep less.
