I wanted to see if I could get your quick help. I'm not sure if you've heard, but there's a movement of citizens inspired by the presidential campaign who are now submitting ideas for how they think the Obama Administration should change America. It's called "Ideas for Change in America."

I've submitted an idea and wanted to see if you could quickly vote for it. The title is: National Campaign to Build More Trafficking Shelters. You can read and vote for the idea by clicking on the following link:

http://www.change.org/ideas/view/national_campaign_to_build_more_trafficking_shelters

The top 10 ideas are going to be presented to the Obama Administration on Inauguration Day and will be supported by a national lobbying campaign run by Change.org, MySpace, and more than a dozen leading nonprofits after the Inauguration. So each idea has a real chance at becoming policy.

Our organization, JustOne, recently set up a social networking site on ning.com for our One Voice to End Slavery network. It's a great platform for people to raise awareness about the reality of modern-day slavery, create working networks, and share ideas towards mobilization.

I invite you to take a couple of minutes to visit our site and consider participating in our new network. The following are some features of our new networking site (By the way, this platform (Ning) offers so many more features than any facebook group):

  • Blog Posts with Latest News about Slavery
  • Page to Upload Photos and Videos by Members
  • Post and RSVP to Upcoming Anti-Slavery Events
  • Chat with other Members Online
  • Post and Respond to Forums About Slavery

I believe that technology will definitely be a practical tool we can use to abolish slavery in our lifetime.
