Twitter Better than Facebook?Posted by Charles Lee in Twitter, Technology, Online Technology, Facebook |
I am writing this blog as the result of the experience I had during our national election. Beyond all of the candidates and propositions that are being decided upon, my election day has been a great experience (and this has nothing to do with my polling place experience which was inefficient, illogical, and very slow).
I say that it has been a great experience because for the first time, I was able to follow my "friends" via the help of twitter as we communally (online) processed (and continue to process) the happenings of this special day. The beautiful (and funny) narrative that is created by a simple app like twitter is quite amazing.
For those of you on twitter, you know exactly what I am talking about.
For those of you who don't, Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users' updates (otherwise known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length. (Thanks Wikipedia for the description.) If you are on Facebook, Twitter is able to sync your tweets with your status updates that appear in your profile.
